Finding Inspiration

you can be equally – and often more – inspired by the things you see outside of design. Look at the things that catch your eye, perk your ears (this could be silence), and that make your mouth water.

Bring Notes

As you start thinking about the project, bring a notepad with you - jot down your ideas, grab pictures or small items you like - fabrics, leaves, even sayings and put them in the notebook. And share them when we meet

Share Your Thoughts

It is really important that your thoughts and design needs are shared and discussed openly... Even if the ideas are wild - they can often lead to creative leaps.

There are 3 design phases for your project

1. Schematic Design: First we listen to the goals and priorities for your project, and we go over budget. We’ll create 2 or 3 design options that satisfy the design requirements. You will see 3D computer models for visualization - keeping in mind they are only computer generated and they are for a basic idea of room layout, etc. Revisions are included in the process – we’ll strive to make the solutions ideal before we move on to the next design phase.

2. Design Development: In this phase we design the details – making cabinet, lighting, fixture, material, and appliance decisions. Interior design is tailored for you – we’ll provide help with finishes according to your needs.

3. We then turn over the design to the contractor who will make construction drawings: After pricing the design, we make adjustments as needed to fit your budget. Finally the construction drawings serve as part of the builder’s contract.

Design communication is very important and is not overlooked during construction: It’s exciting to see your project take shape.
